From October 25 to 27, the Ninth Zhejiang Book Fair, the 2024 Maritime Silk Road Cultural and Tourism Expo, and the 2024 Ningbo International Tourism Exhibition will be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang, collectively known as the “Maritime Silk Road Cultural and Tourism Expo.”
With six exhibition halls, this major event will feature six themed areas: “Classic Heritage,” “Inclusive Reading,” “Literary Vibes + Intelligent Culture and Tourism,” “Maritime Silk Road Impressions,” “Coastal Harbor City,” and “Exploring Together.” The total exhibition space exceeds 30,000 square meters, accommodating over 730 exhibiting companies.
As the largest cultural exhibition in Ningbo, the expo will host 75 activities within the venue and more than 1,100 supporting events outside. Notable authors, including Sun Ganlu, Liu Xinglong, Wang Xufeng, Ye Xin, Ma Boyong, and Bai Cha, will engage with the audience at the event.
Additionally, a themed painting exhibition by Hungarian artists will take place at the Ningbo Art Museum. The opening ceremony will also unveil the “Annual Recommended Reading List for the Zhejiang Book Fair” and the “Autumn Fun in Ningbo” cultural and tourism route products. Various community initiatives, such as “Zhejiang-Xinjiang Friendship: Lighting Up Reading Wishes,” and the “Ningbo Loves the West: Classic Reads by the Sea,” along with numerous signing ceremonies for cultural tourism projects and reading services, will also be part of the festivities.
A spokesperson from the Ningbo Municipal Propaganda Department stated in a recent interview that although similar exhibitions have been held in the past, this year marks the first time the event is being driven by market forces, featuring a “three-in-one” format to emphasize innovation, integration, and enthusiasm. This approach leverages market resource allocation and explores new pathways for “market-oriented exhibition” to boost new consumption in the cultural and tourism sectors.
