From October 21 to 25, the “Belt and Road” youth friendly exchange program called “Foreign Media Explore Qingcheng” was held in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia. A group of 21 journalists from 19 countries, including Kazakhstan, Syria, and Lebanon, embarked on a media tour, exploring various sites like the Chifeng Prairie and the Yili Modern Smart Health Valley, immersing themselves in the economic and cultural pulse of Hohhot.
At each location, the foreign journalists listened intently to the explanations provided, capturing the essence of Hohhot through their cameras and vividly portraying the charm of this historical cultural city with their words.
Rania Hamdallah, a journalist from Palestine, expressed her amazement while photographing at the Chifeng Prairie. “I’ve heard that just over a decade ago this area was barren. We are truly impressed by the transformation of this grassland; such change is not easy to achieve.”
At the national modern agriculture park in Tumote Left Banner, the journalists were captivated by the sight of Sunlit Rose grapes, glistening like gems on the vine. Despite Tajikistan also being known for its grapes, journalist Usmon Abdulkahorlov’s interest was piqued by the unique sweetness of the Sunlit Rose variety. He even left with a special gift in hand.
“I have a vineyard at home with various types of grapes, but I’ve never had this variety,” Usmon shared. “I’ve been searching for seeds of the Sunlit Rose grape, and today my dream came true. I’ll take the seedlings back to my hometown and cultivate them carefully, ensuring that Sunlit Rose grapes thrive there and yield a bountiful harvest.”
In recent years, Hohhot has been making strides in developing a top-notch dairy industry chain, capitalizing on its location in the golden dairy belt at latitude 40°N. With its emphasis on technology and a diverse range of dairy products, the city’s efforts have garnered admiration from visiting foreign journalists.
“The yogurt production technology here has truly impressed me,” noted Syrian journalist Rim Labi. “I’m also keenly interested in which countries the products are exported to and the intelligent technologies used in the production process.”
