Recently, Lekki Port’s management has welcomed two state-of-the-art pilot boats, “PC Jalingo” and “PC Nadiya,” courtesy of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
In a recent interview, Du Ruogang, the Managing Director and CEO of Lekki Port, highlighted the importance of this acquisition. He noted that these advanced vessels will significantly improve the port’s operational efficiency by facilitating safe and smooth navigation for large ships within the port’s channel.
Ruogang also mentioned that the addition of PC Jalingo and PC Nadiya will enhance the port’s capacity to manage rising cargo volumes and streamline maritime operations, solidifying its position as the primary trade gateway in West Africa.
Moreover, Operations Manager Mr. Yang Xixiong shared his perspective on this development, calling it a promising step forward and a key milestone in the port’s goal of becoming the leading gateway in West Africa.
He emphasized that these new boats will enhance navigational capabilities, ensuring safer and more efficient vessel movements in and out of the terminal. “With these boats, our pilots can offer improved guidance for vessels of all sizes, especially during challenging weather and sea conditions. An expanded fleet enables us to respond more swiftly and manage vessels more effectively, allowing us to accommodate more ships in a shorter time frame,” Xixiong remarked.
