In a routine press conference on October 8, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning addressed reporters about the latest developments concerning the India-China border situation.
Mao Ning emphasized, “China and India have been actively maintaining communication on border issues through both diplomatic and military channels. We have made notable progress in disengaging in four areas, including the western sector of the Galwan Valley. Overall, the situation along the China-India border remains stable. During the recent 31st meeting of the China-India border affairs consultation and coordination mechanism, both sides made strides in narrowing differences and broadening consensus, and we have agreed to work towards resolving border issues as early as possible.”
