Police arrest 2 Chinese men involved in theft of letters from 8th Avenue Apartment_1

The NYPD is actively seeking information on two male suspects linked to a series of burglaries on Eighth Avenue. In the most recent incident, which occurred on October 2, two Asian men allegedly broke into an apartment, rummaged through important mail, and stole at least one package. Surveillance footage captured the suspects’ actions, leading the 72nd precinct to release a wanted poster and appeal to the community for assistance.

According to the 72nd precinct, investigators believe these suspects may be repeat offenders connected to multiple burglary cases in the area. The break-in took place at around 3:57 PM when the suspects, wearing masks and hats to hide their identities, entered a six-story apartment building at 4102 Eighth Avenue. They exploited the vacant lobby to pry open the mailbox, stealing several important pieces of mail along with at least one package before fleeing through the front door in an unknown direction. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the break-in.

Police described one of the suspects as a man in his 50s to 60s, dressed in a black baseball cap with “Flashpoint” on it, a gray sweater, and gray sneakers. The second suspect, a younger male in his 20s to 30s, was seen acting as a lookout, wearing a black shirt marked “The Cure Boys Don’t Cry,” distressed blue jeans, flip-flops, and black square-framed glasses with silver accents.

Authorities have released the suspects’ images and are calling on anyone with information to step forward.
