On October 14, 2023, the Financial Times published its list of the top 100 global Executive MBA (EMBA) programs for 2024, marking a historic achievement for the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). For the first time, CEIBS’ Global EMBA (GEMBA) program claimed the number one spot on this prestigious international ranking.
According to the latest report, CEIBS’ GEMBA program has successfully nurtured over 2,300 outstanding leaders and entrepreneurs, creating a robust alumni network alongside more than 30,000 graduates. These alumni possess a unique blend of “Chinese depth” and “global breadth,” spanning nearly 50 countries and regions, significantly enhancing global economic and business collaboration and elevating CEIBS’ international influence.
The program’s remarkable performance in this ranking is attributed to stable improvements in key indicators related to student quality and career development. Notably, the “work experience” ranking rose from 15th to 9th place, entering the global top ten, showcasing the high caliber of its student body. Meanwhile, the “goal achievement” ranking surged from 13th to 4th place, illustrating the program’s capacity to deliver a high-quality learning experience. Additionally, the GEMBA program maintains a strong second position in “salary levels,” with notable progress in “salary increase,” which improved from 9th to 7th place, underscoring its commitment to creating long-term value for students.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of CEIBS. CEIBS President Wang Hong emphasized the symbolic significance of the GEMBA program’s top ranking in the FT’s global list. “CEIBS has always focused on cultivating talent for economic transformation and upgrading, paving the way for innovative developments in Chinese management education. We strive to bridge China and the world through a mission of integration. Over the years, the GEMBA program has produced a plethora of global managers who deeply understand the Chinese market while possessing international perspectives and cross-cultural management capabilities, thus contributing significantly to economic and cultural cooperation between China and the world.”
The GEMBA program’s stellar ranking also lays a solid foundation for its ongoing development. Following substantial global challenges, it has rebound remarkably and now offers students over 20 overseas course destinations, continuing to serve as a vital link between China and the world while fostering mutual understanding among diverse business cultures. The program also provides solutions for navigating today’s critical challenges and emerging trends. As more Chinese companies expand internationally, the GEMBA program equips them with international skills and global perspectives. Conversely, when multinational companies face challenges entering the Chinese market, the program offers essential localized knowledge rooted in “Chinese depth.”
Founded in 1994 through a collaboration between the Chinese government and the European Union, CEIBS has established a global educational footprint across three continents and five locations (Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen in China; Zurich in Switzerland; and Accra in Ghana). The CEIBS Global EMBA program was the first English-taught EMBA program in mainland China, and since its inception in 1995, it has graduated over 2,300 students.
