On the afternoon of October 15th, the “Mountains and Rivers Rise from Kunlun – A Kunlun-Themed Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition” officially opened at the Cultural Center in Hotan, Xinjiang.
The exhibition featured renowned national political advisor and former Party Secretary of the China Academy of Art, Han Ziyong, who served as the academic advisor for the event. The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections: “Ode to Kunlun,” “Kunlun Poetry,” and “Kunlun in the Homeland.”
Showcasing over 100 artworks from more than 80 artists, this exhibition spans various disciplines including calligraphy, painting, and sculpture. Through diverse artistic expressions, it vividly portrays the majestic grandeur of Kunlun and the profound cultural heritage associated with it, highlighting the unique position and far-reaching influence of Kunlun spirit in Chinese culture.
Han Ziyong remarked on the rich cultural depth of Kunlun, emphasizing the importance of its preservation and development to reinforce the awareness of a shared Chinese national identity.
This exhibition is one of the key events associated with the 2024 Kunlun Culture Forum, co-organized by the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Hotan Command for Assistance, and the Hotan Prefectural Propaganda Department. The initiative also involves collaboration with literary and art circles from aid-providing provinces such as Tianjin and Anhui, as well as significant regions along the Kunlun mountains, including Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, and Tibet, reflecting the diverse yet unified cultural landscape of the Chinese nation.
