On October 26, a cargo plane loaded with cross-border e-commerce goods took off from Nanchang Changbei International Airport, marking the launch of the first dedicated export route for cross-border e-commerce from Nanchang, and the first of its kind in Jiangxi province.
This initial flight carried a shipment totaling 40 tons of everyday items, including clothing, shoes, and decorations, valued at approximately 3 million yuan, destined for Belgium.
Customs officials noted that this new dedicated air route for cross-border e-commerce is expected to facilitate the export of more “Made in China” products to international markets. It also addresses the increasing demand for cargo flights to Europe from Jiangxi and the wider Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions.
To support this new initiative, the Nanchang Changbei Airport Customs has made significant efforts to enhance the efficiency and quality of new business operations. They have adapted to the complexities of cross-border e-commerce, which involves a diverse range of products and strict time requirements, by reallocating personnel and offering overtime services on weekends to ensure a smooth operation for the newly established route.
Additionally, the customs department has been continuously optimizing the clearance process through the implementation of smart customs solutions, which has led to improved services for cross-border e-commerce at the Nanchang port.
Statistics reveal that in the first ten months of this year, the volume of cross-border e-commerce export parcels from Nanchang has surged by over 50% compared to the same period last year.
